About Dogues

Hooch Info was started by a concerned group of Dogue de Bordeaux Breeders that includes Kris Munday with Camelot Bordeaux and Kim Lellig with Brazen Bordeaux, with guidance from fellow breeders Collen Ewald with Ruari DDB and Deana Crutcher with Ginger Haus DDB. We started this website to help the average person learn if this is the right breed for them and if it is, how to at the very least, find a fabulous dogue through Rescue or find an accountable, responsible breeder if that’s the route they wish to go.

With the “retooling” of Turner and Hooch, we understand the dramatic impact this will have on Rescue not only in North America, but world wide. Please, be informed. There are too many breeders out there already producing substandard examples of the breed that are often loaded with health issues. If we can help you, please, reach out.

Kris, based in Oregon, started in the ddb with her first, a rescue named Monet in 2000 and then it kinda snowballed from there as she started helping with rescue, purchased a ddb pup, Boogie, who had loads of health issues, then finally purchased a well bred dogue who was the cornerstone of her breeding program. The utter heartache with Boogie is why Kris does everything she does for this breed. She took over Rescue in 2006 and merged the competing rescues into a single, non profit entity that as of 2021 has assisted more than 2000 Dogues in the USA and Canada. Kris stepped down as Rescue President, but is still Vice President and NW Coordinator of Dogue de Bordeaux Rescue and is Founder and President of the DDB Trust, a world wide charity to help the DDB breed that is currently under development.

Kim Lellig is based in Canada and has been at this almost as long as Kris. She has purchased dozens of ddb throughout the years and unfortunately, sadly, most did not pass their health certifications. Like Kris, this heartache has turned her into the breeder she is today. She thoroughly enjoys showing and promoting the breed and has some of the top winning ddb in the USA and co-owns the most winning ddb in Canadian history. Kim shows all over the USA and Canada.
